Mobile Auto Glass Service in Melissa, TX

Melissa sits right on US 75, and most of the driving here funnels onto it — south toward McKinney and Plano in the morning, back up the frontage roads at night. That stretch stays busy with construction and hauling traffic feeding the new subdivisions off FM 545 and Melissa Road, and loose gravel off a truck bed at highway speed is how a lot of local windshields pick up their first chip. Open country roads east and west of town add their own share of flying debris.

We don't have a shop in Melissa. Our mobile unit comes out from Little Elm to your driveway, office lot, or wherever the car is sitting, handling chip repair, windshield and side or back glass replacement, and ADAS calibration.

How it works

Three steps, no shop visit

1

Tell us what broke

Send the form or call. Your VIN or plate gets us the exact glass for your vehicle, including whether it carries a camera, rain sensor or heating element.

2

We check your coverage first

Before anything is scheduled we confirm what your policy covers — or give you a straight cash price — so the price you hear is the price you pay. No claim is filed until you say go.

3

We come to you

Your driveway, your office lot, your job site — wherever the vehicle is. We fit the glass, recalibrate the camera if there is one, and tell you when it's safe to drive.

Insurance

We handle the claim with your carrier

Glass coverage sits in the comprehensive part of your policy — and we do the paperwork.

Glass claims in Texas

Glass damage is covered under the comprehensive part of your policy, and your comprehensive deductible applies to a replacement.

Most carriers waive the deductible entirely for a chip repair, because a repair costs them a fraction of a replacement. If the damage is still repairable, that is usually the cheapest outcome for everyone.

We file the claim with your carrier and deal with them directly, so you are not on hold for an afternoon. Call us with your policy number and we will check your coverage with you before you commit to anything.

Paying cash

Not going through insurance? You get a straight price up front, before any work starts — no surprises when the job is done.

Most carriers waive the deductible on a chip repair even where a replacement would carry one — a repair costs them a fraction of new glass.

Damage smaller than a dollar bill, out of the driver’s line of sight and away from the edge, can usually still be repaired — which is quicker, cheaper, and keeps the original factory seal. Once it spreads, it is a replacement, so it is worth calling early.

General information only, not advice about your policy — coverage depends on the policy you hold, so check with your carrier. We are an independent auto glass company and are not affiliated with or endorsed by any insurance company. Your choice of repair shop is yours to make.

My appointment wasn't until between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. so imagine my surprise when the wonderful James calls me and tells me he's 20 minutes away a little after 9:00 a.m. I am not complaining by any means about his earlyness not only that but he was extremely professional had a wonderful smile and was so fast and efficient at completing the job. Hopefully I will not need their services again but if I do I want James to do the job again cuz he was absolutely fantastic

Questions

Frequently asked

Does it matter what car I drive?

It matters a great deal. The glass itself differs by model and options — sensor brackets, camera mounts, heating elements, antennas and acoustic layers all change which part fits your car. Some vehicles use encapsulated side glass bonded to a frame rather than a bare pane. And a windshield sitting in front of a forward-facing camera brings ADAS calibration into the job. Give us the vehicle details and we'll tell you what yours needs.

It's just a small chip. Should I deal with it now?

Yes, look at it now rather than later. A chip is a break in the outer layer, and it spreads — a cold night followed by a hot defroster, a pothole, a slammed door or a flexing body can run it out across the glass without warning. Dirt and moisture also work into the break over time. Once damage runs long, reaches the edge of the glass, or sits in the driver's line of sight, your options narrow. Bring it to us while it's small.

Is my car safe to drive right after the windshield is replaced?

Not the moment the glass goes in. A bonded windshield is a structural part of the car, and the urethane adhesive needs to cure before the vehicle is safe. That cure depends on the specific adhesive used, the temperature and the humidity on the day, so your installer will give you the exact safe drive-away figure for your job before handing the keys back. If your vehicle needs camera calibration, that must be completed before you rely on driver-assist features.

What if it rains, or I need to run it through the car wash?

Rain is not a problem once your installer has released the vehicle to you. Automatic car washes are the real risk — high-pressure jets and heavy brushes push at fresh urethane and at new moldings, so hold off until your installer tells you it's fine. Leave any retention tape in place for as long as they advise, and crack a window when you shut a door so cabin pressure doesn't push on the new glass.

What happens to my old windshield and the trim around it?

We remove the damaged glass and take it away with us, along with the debris from the job, and vacuum the dash, defroster vents and door area before we leave. Mouldings, cowl clips and sensor gel pads are often single-use and won't seat properly a second time, and some clips break on removal no matter how carefully it's done. If a part on your vehicle needs replacing, we'll tell you before we fit the new glass.

My back window shattered into tiny pieces. Is my car full of glass?

Almost certainly, and that's normal. Rear and side windows are tempered glass, designed to break into small blunt pebbles instead of sharp shards. Those pebbles travel — into seat tracks, vents, trunk seams, the door cavity and the defroster grid area. We vacuum thoroughly as part of the job, but pieces settle inside door shells and body seams and can work loose for a while afterwards, so give the interior another vacuum yourself over the following weeks.

Will filing a glass claim raise my rates?

Glass damage is handled under the comprehensive part of your policy, not collision or liability, and comprehensive claims are generally treated differently from an at-fault accident. Every carrier and policy is different, though, so your carrier is the one who can confirm it for yours. Either way, nothing is filed until you tell us to.

Should I use insurance or just pay cash?

It comes down to two numbers: your comprehensive deductible and the price of the glass. If your deductible is $250 and the replacement is $550, claiming saves you $300. If your deductible is $500 and the glass is $420, paying directly is cheaper — and there is no claim on your record. We will price it both ways before you decide.

Can my windshield be repaired instead of replaced?

Often, yes. Damage smaller than a dollar bill, outside the driver’s line of sight and away from the edge of the glass can usually be repaired rather than replaced. A repair is quicker, costs less, and keeps the original factory seal. Send a photo with your quote and we will tell you straight — including when it is the smaller job.

Does my car need a camera recalibration?

If there is a camera mounted behind your windshield — lane keeping, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise — the manufacturer generally requires recalibration after the glass is replaced, so the system aims where it is supposed to. Your VIN tells us whether yours has one, and if it does we include it in the quote up front rather than after the job.
